Welcome to a collection of School Photographs, taken over 100 years, from the Murwillumbah area of Northern N.S.W, Australia.
Many of these photographs are from schools which have closed. The oldest photograph in this collection, appropriately, is from Tumbulgum (first school on the Tweed) taken in 1890.
The cut-off point for this collection (at present) is 1962. Each year, more photographs will appear (as copyright runs out), so check back.

Many individuals, too many to name, have made available photographs for this site. I wish to express my gratitude to those individuals; acknowledgement of an individual contributor appears on the same page as the photograph. Some photographs on this site are also on public display (e.g. Tyalgum Hall has on its walls many historic school photographs.)

The names of students in all the photographs have been shown, where available. Errors copying names off the backs of photographs, or off faded, attached pieces of paper may have occurred. The year in which the photograph was taken, is accurate, to the best of my knowledge. Undoubtedly errors have crept in. Many of the names of pupils were not available when the photo was scanned. Also, many photographs are missing, particularly Depression and War Years photos. If you are able to supply a missing photograph, or some names, or correct a year, please email. Photographs from further afield (N.S.W, Qld) are also invited as other area collections are in preparation.

Update - Extreme Weather Event in Feb, 2013 brought down server in Newcastle, NSW. Some photos were lost (Uki, Tumbulgum and Tyalgum Schools) but are gradually being put back up on site.
